CoreCivic is an American private prison and immigration-detention company. It has benefited handsomely from the Trump administration's expansion of ICE detention capacity, which has grown from roughly 40,000 to around 70,000 beds since Trump took office in January 2025, with a target of 100,000. CoreCivic's net profit in the first quarter of 2026 was up by half year on year.
