Extinction Rebellion is a British environmental protest movement co-founded by Roger Hallam. Its activists caked Shell's headquarters in graffiti and blocked junctions in central London. The movement helped create an atmosphere that pushed a Conservative government into becoming the first G7 country to pledge to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, a milestone in the politics of climate change.
Extinction Rebellion spawned several successor groups sharing similar tactics and, in some cases, even the same phone number for journalists. These include Just Stop Oil and Insulate Britain, possibly the first civil-resistance movement dedicated to lobbying for lagging.
If I were a grave-digger or even a hangman, there are some people I could work for with a great deal of enjoyment.
