Bobby Pulido is a two-time Latin Grammy-winning singer running as a Democrat for Congress in Texas's 15th district, in the Rio Grande Valley. He was born, brought up and still lives in Edinburg, Texas; like most of his constituents he is Latino and bilingual and lacks a college degree. He is an avid hunter and competitive long-distance shooter and has "lost count" of how many guns he owns. He believes Democrats's focus on social rather than economic issues lost the district. After his opponent Monica De La Cruz dismissed him as a quinceañera singer, he performed at dozens of them across the district, taking payment in earned media. Donald Trump won the district by 18 points in 2024.
