Carl Benedikt Frey is the Dieter Schwarz Associate Professor of AI and Work at Oxford University. He is the author of "How Progress Ends: Technology, Innovation, and the Fate of Nations" (2025). He co-authored a paper with Pedro Llanos-Paredes, also of Oxford, suggesting a link between automation and declining demand for translators.
