After Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid merged their parties into "Together" on April 26th 2026, Eisenkot became the most likely candidate to join their bloc as a third partner. His decision is expected to determine the course of the race against Binyamin Netanyahu. He has been reluctant to recognise Bennett as the opposition's standard-bearer.
