Commander of NASA's Artemis II mission, the first crewed flight to the Moon since Apollo 17 in 1972. On April 11th 2026 the mission splashed down in the Pacific after a "textbook" re-entry. During the flight the crew recommended that a previously unrecorded crater on the edge of the lunar far side be officially named Carroll, after Wiseman's late wife, Carroll Taylor Wiseman.
