Controlling shareholder of Paramount Global. Redstone and her family stand to pocket $2.4bn from the sale of Paramount to Skydance Media, a deal inked in 2024 that values the firm at $8bn. The merger requires approval from the Federal Communications Commission, which has slow-walked its review.
In July 2025 Paramount agreed to pay $16m to Donald Trump's presidential library to settle a lawsuit over CBS's editorial coverage of the 2024 election. Redstone had reportedly sought more editorial oversight over CBS News in recent months. Paramount shareholders are preparing to sue her and other board members for breach of duty over the settlement, and some have hired the litigator Abbe Lowell to demand that she personally cover the payment.
