Steve Bannon is an American right-wing strategist who served as Donald Trump's White House chief strategist. He hosts the "War Room" podcast, on which he mentioned Brazil in at least 10% of episodes aired in the year running up to the 2022 Brazilian election, according to Agencia Publica, a Brazilian investigative news outlet. He is close to Eduardo Bolsonaro, a son of Jair Bolsonaro.
Bannon has emerged as one of the most vocal opponents of artificial intelligence within the MAGA movement. On his "War Room" podcast he warned that AI would soon engender "the most fundamental, radical transformation" in human history and "must be stopped, slowed down and put in the control of humans and not the four horsemen of the apocalypse"—meaning the chief executives of America's leading AI firms. He accuses big tech of using AI to create a system of "techno-feudalism" in which average Americans would be reduced to "digital serfs".
Bannon is hawkish on China. In 2025 he called for Jensen Huang, boss of Nvidia, to be imprisoned after Huang described the term "China hawk" as a "badge of shame".
In late October 2025 Bannon floated the possibility of a Trump third presidential term in 2028, telling The Economist: "Trump is going to be president in 28, and people just ought to get accommodated with that. At the appropriate time, we'll lay out what the plan is." He cited the 22nd Amendment's language, which bars a person from being "elected" president more than twice but says nothing about serving or holding office again—a loophole some legal scholars consider plausible.
Accept people for what they are -- completely unacceptable.
